Many people have written me wondering how you can evaluate your performance in an online class. This is important because you want to be sure you're practicing correctly so that you get better. Each class has two parts. The first part describes certain concepts that are important to your voice performance and the parameters of speech you need to learn to control to achieve the best performance.
The second part of each class has commercial copy that actually focuses on the particular concepts that are being emphasized in that lesson. In this part I give you copy to read and clear instructions on how to read it. Then I read the copy to give you a clear example of how it should sound. By listening to my performance you can ascertain if your performance is hitting the desired target.
So you can evaluate your read by listening to mine and asking "does mine sound like that?"
But I've decided that you might occasionally need some direct input from me. To give you this input I've decided to add an evaluation service in addition to the lessons. For a small charge you can record and MP3 of your performance for a lesson and email it to me. I'll then listen to your recording and then record my evaluation of it with hints and comments to improve.
